Utilizing Cover

I took this photograph on a hiking trail at the Living Desert Zoo in Palm Springs. I placed the figure between a rock which had split in two and tried to replicate movement with his legs. I like the max black in the shadow of the rock, and the max white on the armor of the figure. I also like how the image is high resolution and a lot of detail is captured. In Photoshop I would like to lower the clarity of the rock nearest to the camera, to place more emphasis on the figure.
