This week, the artist of the week its Grant Wood. While he was many great works of art, this is no doubt his most famous. What made it so popular was that it captured the zeitgeist. In other words, it captured the spirit of the times. This image has been replicated numerous times in a variety of homages. An example is when the figures are replaced with characters from animated television shows.
