Always Have a Buddy

I like how the figures in this photograph are posed as if they were real people facing a camera. Also, I like how the figures are in a shadow, which keeps light from casting a strange glow on them. In Photoshop I would like to filter out all the color in the image to create a sense of memory, or reminiscence. I would also like to crop the sides of the image.
